At&#38;nbsp;Zurich

The fondue pavilion is part of a multi-layered spatial structure of the Hotel Helvetia, a house with different atmospheres, where the visitor can constantly discover new spaces. From the outside, the Pavilion resembles a vernacular shed from Zurich, inside develops a fresh, Turkish world that is reminiscent of glacier colors and is equipped with furniture in a warm black with a specular reflection.&#38;nbsp;

2020On Zürichberg
The client lives on Zürichberg in a house from the 1950’ies. The plan being a conglomerate of rather narrow cells, it needed a spacial liberation. The remodeled space is still is within the founding spirit, a landscape of different atmospheres.

The Pool Bar is a hidden gem in the middle of Zurich. It lies behind a closed wall, directly by the water of the river Sihl. The bar is reusing a dilapidated former front yard. It is inspired by the pool bars of the 1960s, materials and architectural elements from the international jet set world have been combined to create an atmosphere reminding of a fresh and exciting world.

In&#38;nbsp;Zurich
A former apartment building got converted into a hotel. The building façade and the staircase are listed heritage. Around this rigid framework, angled floor plans were the solution to fit in the necessary five rooms per floor. Every detail was tailor-made: the lemon wallpaper, the built-in wardrobes, the small work desks.

2016&#38;nbsp;In Ambonga MadagascarThe project provides a meeting place for a local football club in rural Madagascar. The school was funded with a minimal budget. The obstacles of working over distance, the different building and living culture as well as the language barriers were bridged with axonometric plans. The drawings are universally readable and serve as a step by step building instruction, similar to the instructions for the construction of model airplanes. All building materials come from the immediate vicinity, the bricks were stoved from local clay.

It is a long trip even though the highlands are not so many kilometers away, as the roads are in such poor condition that it takes us many hours. The locals take the earth they live on and shape it into bricks. The air-dried bricks are then assembled in pyramidal sculptures with a cavity at the bottom, via which the entire pile is fired. These large stacks of bricks with clouds of smoke escaping from the sides are to be found all along the roads in Madagascar. Although they are just part of a production process, they are among the most poetic architectural entities I have seen.»

The public library is shaped by thick solid brick walls and a wooden roof with an offset folding geometry. In order not to put a long flat body in the small and clustered old town of Köpenick, the desired continuous space was stacked on three floors and connected with the help of airspaces. Together with the former girls’ school, which was converted into an administrative building, the brick buildings form an ensemble at the old market in Köpenick.

2016 /&#38;nbsp;Ph.D. ETH ZurichPublication 2018&#38;nbsp;Park Books&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; The Costa Smeralda is a large holiday resort developed on an untouched region in Sardinia from 1961. The architectural style of Costa Smeralda was above-all defined by its subordination into landscape at all scales. For this study primary sources were opened and consulted for the first time. The research shows that the Costa Smeralda demonstrates multi-layered relevant characteristics as a physical manifestation of a network, as a representation of an architectural era and, as the result of a controlled large-scale planning framework, has influenced the whole region.&#38;nbsp;
